HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY DROPS NON-LEAGUE GAME TO AUSTIN (2024-12-17)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Cowanesque Valley jumped out to an early lead but Austin came back and earned a 48-36 non-league win over the Lady Indians in girls basketball action Tuesday.
CV used 7 Ella Churchill points to take a 15-12 lead after one quarter of play before Austin took the 2nd frame 10-6 to take a one point halftime lead, 22-21.
Austin held the Lady Indians to single digits in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters .. 15-7 and 11-8 .. to earn the win.
Churchill led CV with 14 points while Ashley Woodring had 11 points, Starr Ordway had 8 and Jessie Quick added 3 points in the loss.
Cowanesque Valley drops to 1-4 on the season with the loss. They’re scheduled to play at Mansfield on Wednesday.
