NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: HORNETS ROLL TO 60-30 WIN OVER WILLIAMSON (2024-12-17)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — Wellsboro held Williamson to single digits in the final three quarters as they doubled up the host Warriors 60-30 for an NTL crossover win here Tuesday.
The Hornets had 10 players score in the lopsided win, led by Luke Rothermel’s 15 points and 13 from Mitch Lechler. Rothermel recorded a double-double, grabbing 12 rebounds and added 3 assists and 3 steals.
Wellsboro led 15-11 after one quarter and took a 32-17 lead into the locker rooms. A 19-6 Hornet third and a 9-6 fourth provided the final.
Jonathon Carl had 9 points, Colin Fletcher had 5, Lucas Cuneo and Marek Mascho each had 4 points, Ethan Keane and Max Mascho each had 3 and Ransom Schultz and Griffin Morral each had 2 points.
Jack Nolan led Williamson with 14 points, Kayden Moon had 9, Izaiah Croft had 5 and AJ Hargarther had 2 points.
Wellsboro’s second straight win evens their season record at 2-2. They’re scheduled to visit Mansfield to take on the Tigers on Thursday.
Williamson falls to 0-5 on the season and is scheduled to visit Sayre on Thursday.
