NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY EDGES CANTON FOR FIRST WIN (2024-12-19)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Cowanesque Valley built a seven point lead in the second half and held on to earn their first win of the season Thursday, edging the visiting Canton Warriors 48-47.
CV held a 1-point lead after the first quarter but fell behind 24-21 at the break. A 19-9 third frame put the Indians up 7 and they were able to hold the Warriors off in the final quarter.
Ashton Burdick led CV in scoring with 15 points and Levi Stahli added 11 points. Carsyn Kemp had 7 points, Jacob Johnson had 6, Parker Lee had 5 and Josh Teague and Gavin Churchill each had 2 points.
The Indians, now 1-3 on the season, are scheduled to visit Northern Potter on Saturday.
