NTWSR PRESENTS THE LAUREL HEALTH 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2024-12-29)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY, PA — The Laurel Health ‘Athletes of the Week’ are North Penn-Liberty wrestler Bryce Pequignot and Wellsboro swimmer Piper Anderegg.
Anderegg swam a 2:11.03 to capture 1st place in the 200 Free at the Elk Lake ‘Keep the Beat Invite’, beating the 2nd place finisher by over four seconds. The freshman also won the 500 Free with a time of 6:00.87, also nearly four seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher. She was also 5th in the 100 IM (1:13.08).
Pequignot won the 114 pound title with a 7-3 finals’ win over senior Jayden Lee from Radnor. The sophomore opened the tourney with a 17-1 tech fall and earned a pair of major decisions (11-3, 15-1) on his way to the championship match.
