NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD DROPS NTL-I GAME TO ATHENS (2025-01-08)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportMANSFIELD — The Lady Tigers found themselves in an 18-point fourth quarter hole and couldn’t catch up to Athens, falling 42-32 to the visiting Lady Wildcats.
Claire Dominick scored six first quarter points for NPM as Athens took a 10-8 lead and then held the Tigers to three second quarter points and led 24-11 at the break.
An 11-6 Athens’ third quarter gave the Wildcats a 35-17 lead and despite a 14-7 Mansfield fourth, Athens secured the win.
Dominick led NPM with 11 points while Maddie McNamara scored eight points, Raegan Watkins had six points and seven rebounds, Kameron Lightner had five points and six rebounds and Elaina Shaw chipped in with two points.
North Penn-Mansfield drops below .500 on the season at 5-6 with the loss. They’re scheduled to host Wyalusing on Friday.
