NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: SLOW START LEADS TO LOSS FOR WILLIAMSON (2025-01-15)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — Williamson was held scoreless in the first quarter here Wednesday and went on to lose 52-28 to the visiting Canton Lady Warriors.
Canton took a 17-0 lead after a quarter of play and while Williamson matched Canton’s 11 points in the second, the host Warriors were down 28-11 at the break. A defensive third quarter extended Canton’s lead to 36-15 and a 16-13 advantage in the fourth gave Canton the 52-28 win.
Aubrey Wells and Olivia Meisner each scored 8 points to lead Williamson while Madisen Jones had 7 points, Kenna Thomas had 3 points and Avery Vinsek added 2 points in the loss.
Williamson (4-8) is scheduled to return to action on Friday at Northeast Bradford (9-2).
