NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WELLSBORO SENIORS LEAD LADY HORNETS TO SEASON ENDING WIN OVER SAYRE (2025-02-12)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The host Lady Hornets celebrated seniors Chloe Brandenburg and Paige Logsdon before their final game of the season here Wednesday and the standouts led Wellsboro to a 46-17 win over Sayre.
Logsdon led Wellsboro with 14 points while classmate Brandenburg added 11.
The Lady Hornets took a 9-4 lead after a quarter of play and went into the locker rooms up 20-10. After an 8-3 Hornet third put them up 28-13, Wellsboro exploded for an 18-4 final frame to provide the final.
Wellsboro put eight players in the scoring column on the night as freshmen Teagan Novinger (6 pts.), Kate Bryant (5), Rylee Coolidge (4) and Adelyn Frantz (2) all contributed and juniors Lily Wagner and Sophia Yoder each chipped in with 2 points.
The season ending win snaps a six game skid for the Hornets and leaves them with a final record of 6-15.
