NTL WRESTLING: NORTH SECTION WRESTLING PREVIEW (2025-02-14)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY, PA — The District 4 2A North Section Wrestling Championships will take place Saturday, with 32 athletes from Williamson, North Penn-Liberty and host Wellsboro looking to make a post-season run that ultimately ends in Hershey at the State Championships.
Williamson will lead the way Saturday with 12 total wrestlers and eight wrestlers seeded in the top-4 of their weight class, including freshman Zander Wilson taking the top spot at 107 pounds.
North Penn-Liberty has five athletes seeded fourth or better among their 11 total wrestlers, highlighted by returning State Qualifier and No. 1 seed Bryce Pequignot at 114 pounds.
Wellsboro has a No. 2 seed in 189 pounder Ryder Bowen and three wrestlers at the No. 4 seed in their class, with nine total athletes set to compete.
In addition to our West squads, the North Section includes teams from Canton, Towanda, Sayre, Northeast Bradford, Sullivan County, Troy and Wyalusing. The top-4 place-winners from each weight class will advance to next weekend’s District 4 Championships at Williamsport High School.
