The NTL-I foes went back-and-forth to open the game as the Tigers took leads of 6-4 and 8-7 behind two scores by Cooper Shaw and found themselves tied at 10-all after Andy Hermansen finished on a drive with just over two minutes left in the first frame. But the Trojans finished the quarter with an 8-0 run and took an 18-10 lead into the second.

Shaw finished with a game-high 25 points in the loss, including three 3-pointers and a 3-for-5 night from the free throw line. The senior scored 7 second quarter points and 6th-man Jason Harer added 5 but Troy extended their lead to 35-23 at the break. 

Shaw scored 10 points in the third frame and Alex Davis added 6 points to lift the Tigers to an 18-16 quarter and NPM went into the final quarter down 51-41.

Tayton Strange opened the final quarter with a three and after a Troy bucket, NPM got a score from Hermansen and Shaw finished a drive to cut Troy’s lead to 53-48 with just over five minutes left in the game. 

The Trojans would finish the game with a 16-8 run, however, to secure the 69-56 win and the Showdown title.

Davis joined Shaw in double figures for Mansfield with 10 points while Harer added 7 points, Hermansen had 6, Brady Stetter had 5 points and Strange had 3.

North Penn-Mansfield finishes the regular season with a record of 20-4, with three losses to Troy. As the No. 3 seed in the District IV 3A playoffs, the Tigers will host No. 6 seed South Williamsport (15-7) next week.
