HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY LADY MOUNTIES SET TO FACE BENTON IN DISTRICT IV QUARTERFINAL (2025-02-18)

BENTON — The North Penn-Liberty Lady Mounties qualified for the District IV Class A playoffs as the No. 6 seed and will open the tournament at No. 3 Benton on Wednesday.

Benton went 12-10 to earn the three seed while Liberty was 9-13. While the two haven’t met this season, they do have a few common opponents on the year. 

Both teams lost to 4A Athens .. Benton by a score of 43-32 and NPL lost 51-32 to the Lady Wildcats. They each also beat 4-17 Sullivan County twice .. Benton winning 49-17 and 46-32 and Liberty by scores of 57-12 and 48-25. 

Benton lost to No. 4 seed Meadowbrook 37-35 while the Mounties beat the Lady Lions 28-25.

The Lady Tigers score 44 points per game and allow 38, while North Penn-Liberty gives up 41 points per outing and averages 39. 

Junior Haley Litzelman leads the Lady Mounties at 16.6 points, 12 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 4.1 assists and 1.8 blocked shots per game, while senior Kaylee Graham averages 10.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and sophomore Kendall Graham scores 8 points and grabs 5.7 rebounds per game.

With a win Wednesday night the Lady Mounties would advance to the semifinals and face the winner between No. 2 seed Millville (13-8) and No. 7 seed Bucktail (8-13).
