Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
WILLIAMSPORT — North Penn-Liberty put Bryce Pequignot into Saturday’s semifinals while three other Mounties earned wins before falling into the consolation bracket of the District IV 2A Championships here Friday night.

Sophomore Bryce Pequignot (31-5) earned an 18-1 tech fall in 1:13 in his quarterfinal match Friday and will next face Wyalusing junior Isaiah Harvey (29-8), the North Section 4th-place finisher who pulled off a pair of upsets Friday night to reach the semis.

107 pound freshman Bodhi Nickerson won his first round match by fall before falling to No. 2 seed Rowen Humphrey from Southern Columbia. He’ll face Mt. Carmel sophomore Brayden Mirarck (19-18) Saturday morning.

Senior Brayden Pequignot recorded a 36 second pin in his first round match, then fell by tech fall to No. 3 seed Bradley Wagner (40-2) from Mifflinburg. He’ll face Williamson junior Noah Robinson (14-6) in the 127 pound consolation bracket first round.

Senior Riley Oakes (32-9) got a 3:30 pin in his first match, then lost 14-8 in the 152 pound quarterfinals to drop into the consolation bracket. He’ll wrestle Muncy senior Paxton Derr (22-13) for a chance to advance.

Junior 121 pounder Charles Aumick (12-9) fell by a pin in his first round match and will face Benton senior Seth Kolb (24-6) to try and stay in the championship.

Senior Braden Route fell by tech fall in his 215 pound opener and will now face Line Mountain junior Jacob Schwalm (29-17) on Saturday morning.

The first round of consolations will start at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, followed by the semifinals, the consolation quarterfinals and the consolation semis.

At 4:30 p.m., the 7th/8th place matches start, followed by the 5th/6th place bouts, the 3rd/4th place matches and at 7:00 p.m., the championship finals.
