COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: CALLAHAN OFF TO HOT START FOR MILLERSVILLE (2021-09-06)

After losing her first collegiate volleyball season to Covid in 2020, Wellsboro grad Caitlyn Callahan finally was able to make her college debut .. leading her Millersville Marauders volleyball team to a 2-2 start.

In her first college match, a 2-3 loss to Jefferson at the West Chester Ramfest Tournament, Callahan racked up 13 kills, three assists, two blocks, a dig and an ace, then followed that up with 10 kills, five blocks and two digs in a 3-1 win against Mercyhurst. 

The three-time Hornet all-stater then recorded 13 kills, six blocks and a dig in a 3-1 Marauder win over Goldey-Beacom, then had 14 kills, two blocks and a dig in a 2-3 loss to Franklin Pierce.

Prior to last year’s cancelled season, Millersville went 26-9 and made the program’s second-ever NCAA appearance. Callahan, a middle hitter, leads her team with 50 kills and 15 blocks. 

The Marauders (2-2) will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Thomas Jefferson University for a rematch of their season-opener in Philadelphia.
