COLLEGE SOFTBALL: CV DUO CONTRIBUTING TO LHU SOFTBALL AS FRESHMEN (2025-03-25)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportLOCK HAVEN — Cowanesque Valley grads Maddie Millard and Ruby Sherman are both freshmen on the Lock Haven University softball team that has started the season 9-7 and is .500 in the highly competitive PSAC East.
Millard, a three-time member of the NTWSR All-Tioga County Softball Teams, has primarily been used as a pinch runner during her first season with the Bald Eagles, appearing in six games and scoring two runs. She did earn her first start recently, playing left field in LHU’s 18-2 loss to 16-5 West Chester.
Sherman, also a three-time All-Tioga County selection and two-time Pitcher of the Year, saw her first action in the West Chester loss, coming into the game as the Bald Eagles trailed 9-1 in the 4th inning. After holding the Rams to a run on a single and a pair of walks in her first collegiate outing, Sherman was chased in the 5th after registering two outs and West Chester had taken an 18-1 lead.
Lock Haven is on the road for their next three double-headers .. at East Stroudsburg, Shepherd and Kutztown .. before returning to host Bloomsburg on April 1st and Shippensburg on April 4th.
The April 4th match-up with Shippensburg is designated as LHU’s 19th annual “Knock MS Out of the Park Game”. Fans can read about the fundraiser
