Towanda scored two runs in the first inning, one in the second and five in the third before Wellsboro got on the board with their lone two runs in the bottom of the third. The Lady Knights went on to add two runs in the fourth and six in the fifth inning to end the game early.

Ady Frantz took the loss for Wellsboro, going five innings and allowing 16 runs (9 earned) on 13 base hits and six walks with seven strikeouts.

Frantz had three base hits for the Hornets, including two doubles, and scored once. Teagan Novinger had a double and two RBI, Madelynn Losinger had a hit and Paige Logsdon scored a run. 

Wellsboro (0-4) is scheduled to return to action Saturday when they host Sayre.
