NTL VOLLEYBALL: WELLSBORO DROPS OPENER TO NEB (2021-09-08) Northern Tier West Sports Report WELLSBORO — The Lady Hornets opened the 2021 volleyball regular season Wednesday, falling in straight sets to Northeast Bradford, 19-25, 19-25, 14-25.
Meredith Brownlee had eight digs and six aces for Wellsboro, while Bri Smith had 10 digs and Olivia Servatius had four aces.
Emma Owlett led the Hornets with five kills, and Lexi Vrena added four. Maddi Bordas had 10 assists and Servatius had five.
Paige Logsdon (4) and Grace Hines (2) combined for six blocks.
Wellsboro won the JV match 25-10, 26-24.
The Lady Hornets will return to action today, Wednesday, when they visit Cowanesque Valley.
