NTL BASEBALL: WILLIAMSON WINS HIGH-SCORING GAME WITH CANTON (2025-04-01)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Williamson pounded out 16 hits against seven Canton pitchers here Tuesday night as the host Warriors topped their visiting namesake 22-13.

Canton took an early lead, scoring six first inning runs and adding one in the top of the third to go up 7-0 before Williamson scored. 

Williamson scored one run in the bottom of the third, which Canton matched in the fourth to keep their lead at seven .. 8-1.

But Williamson sent 15 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth and scored 10 runs on six base hits (including three doubles), three walks and three Canton errors. After a scoreless fifth, Canton plated five runs to retake the lead at 13-11.

Williamson rallied again in the bottom of the sixth, sending 16 hitters to the plate and scoring 11 runs on six hits, five walks, a hit batter and a Canton error to provide the final score.

All 10 batters that Williamson sent to the plate in the game had a base hit, while nine collected an RBI and scored at least one run. 

Owen Cilino had three hits (with a double) and added three RBI and four runs scored, while Kohen Flynn had two hits (2B), four RBI and three runs scored and Sawyer Carleton had two hits (2B), five RBI and scored three runs.

Lhandyn Nauman had two hits, three RBI and two runs scored and Maddox Hartman had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Carter Tubbs had a hit, an RBI and three runs scored, Christian Ling and Jack Nolan each had a hit, an RBI and scored two runs, Landyn Carlin had a hit, an RBI and scored and Harlow Little rounded out the Williamson offensive attack with a base hit.

Carleton started and went three innings on the mound for Williamson, allowing seven runs (6 earned) on five hits and four walks with six strikeouts, while Flynn earned the win, going two and two-third innings and giving up six runs (2 earned on six base hits with three K’s. Hartman finished, recording the final out of the game.

Williamson evens their season record at 2-2 with the win. They’re scheduled to visit Troy on Thursday.
