NTL BASEBALL: CV EDGED 3-2 BY WYALUSING FOR FIRST LOSS (2025-04-09)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWYALUSING — The Cowanesque Valley baseball team played even with the host Rams through four and a half innings Wednesday but gave up a late run and were edged 3-2 for their first loss on the season.
The Indians opened the game with a pair of runs as Ayren Morgan delivered a one-out single and Loagan Stickler reached base on a Wyalusing error. Morgan and Stickler would both eventually score on a Ram error and a wild pitch to give the Indians a 2-0 lead.
Wyalusing answered with two runs in the bottom of the first and the score remained tied 2-2 until the bottom of the fifth when the Rams plated the eventual winning run.
Stickler had a double and Levi Stahli had a single for CV’s remaining two base hits in the game.
Lucas Hamilton threw two innings for CV and allowed two runs (1 earned) on one hit with two strikeouts, while Danny Smith threw two and a third innings and gave up one unearned run on a hit and a walk with two K’s and Stickler went one and two-third innings with a walk and two strikeouts.
CV (4-1) is scheduled to return to play on Thursday when they host Wellsboro.
