NTL BASEBALL: HORNETS USE 12-RUN FIRST TO ROLL REDSKINS (2025-04-09)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets scored a dozen runs in the first inning and Marek Mascho threw a three-inning shutout as Wellsboro routed the visiting Sayre Redskins 17-0 here Wednesday.
Wellsboro followed up their 12-run first inning with five runs in the second, collecting eight base hits and drawing seven walks in the lopsided win.
Marek Mascho allowed four hits and struck out four, and led the Hornets at the plate with three base hits, adding three RBI and two runs scored.
Alec Magli had two hits, with a double, and had three RBI and three runs scored, while Cameron Owlett (2 RBI, 1 R), Dustin Owlett and Griffin Morral (2 RBI, 1 R) all had hits.
Ryder Bowen had two RBI and scored two runs, Max Mascho and Coen Tennis each had an RBI and a run scored, Gabe Sprouse scored three runs and Gabe Cuneo and Sylar Pietrzyk each scored a run.
Wellsboro (3-5) is scheduled to visit Cowanesque Valley on Thursday.
