NTL SOFTBALL: WILLIAMSON FALLS TO SMALL SCHOOL LEADER NORTHEAST BRADFORD (2025-04-24)

Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
ROME — The Williamson Lady Warriors took a 3-run lead on Northeast Bradford in the third inning but couldn't keep up with the NTL-II leading Lady Panthers and lost, 12-7.

After a scoreless first inning, Northeast scored two runs in the second, but Williamson batted around in the top of the third and used walks by Savanna Dean, Lexi Smalley, Kenna Thomas and Aubree Roe and singles by Joelie Stephens and Alexis Sprague to take a 5-2 lead.

NEB answered with a six-run bottom half of the third, however, to go up 8-5.

The Lady Warriors cut the lead to one at 8-7 with two runs in the fourth, but the Panthers sealed the win with four runs in the bottom of the fourth  and held off Williamson for the win.

Stephens (3 RBI, 1 R), Sprague (1 RBI), Thomas (1 R) and Dean (2 R) had Williamson's base hits while Smalley walked three times and scored twice and Kaegan Short had an RBI and scored once.

Thomas took the loss for the Warriors, lasting two and a third innings and allowing eight runs (5 earned) on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Olivia Gee finished, pitching three and two-third innings and giving up four runs (1 earned) on two base hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Williamson (6-4) is scheduled to return to action Tuesday at Sayre.
