NTL BASEBALL: WARRIORS EDGE REDSKINS FOR SMALL SCHOOL WIN (2025-04-29)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — The Williamson Warriors halted a four game losing streak, beating the Sayre Redskins for the second time this season, 3-2, in an NTL small school match-up here Tuesday.
After three and a half scoreless innings, Williamson took a 2-0 lead when Christian Ling singled, Sawyer Carleton walked and Landyn Carlin plated them both with a single in the bottom of the fourth frame.
Sayre cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the fifth and Williamson added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when Jack Nolan singled and would eventually score on a passed ball. The Redskins scored a run in the top of the seventh but Williamson escaped with the ‘W’.
Nolan and Ling both finished with two base hits and a run scored while Carlin had a hit and two RBI and Carleton scored once.
Carleton started on the mound for the Warriors and earned the win, going five innings and allowing one unearned run on five Sayre hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Kohen Flynn closed it out and got the save, throwing two innings and giving up one earned run on two hits and a walk with two K’s.
Williamson (3-6) is scheduled to return to action Thursday when they host Cowanesque Valley.
