NTL TRACK & FIELD: WELLSBORO, NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD WRAP UP REGULAR SEASONS WITH TRI-MEET (2025-05-05)

WELLSBORO — North Penn-Mansfield and Wellsboro closed out their regular seasons here Monday with an NTL Track & Field tri-meet with Athens, hosted by the Hornets.

There were no field events as the runways for the events were under water. 

On the girls’ side, Wellsboro won eight of the 11 events. Piper Hoprich was a four-time winner, taking first place in the 100m dash (12.41), the 200m dash (26.02) and was on the winning 4x100m (53.66) and 4x400m (4:54.61) relay teams. 

Lauren Kosek won the 1600m run (5:37.57) and the 3200m (13:03.54), Jennifer Belz won the 100m hurdles (18.34) and Isla Twoey won the 300m hurdles (51.54) and was on the winning 4x400m relay team along with Hoprich, Karah Blackwell and Annabella Hawn. The remaining members of the 4x100m relay, along with Hoprich, were Luna Moyer, Sophia Yoder and Jordan Rumsey.

Kosek was second in the 400m (1:07.29), Belz was second in the 300m hurdles (56.19), Molly Tice was third in the 1600m (6:43.98) and Yoder was third in both the 100m (13.55) and 200m (28.42) dashes. 

North Penn-Mansfield won two events, as Maryn McCarthy won the 400m (1:06.78) and the team of Jaci Fairchild, Kara Barrett, Moira Wheeler and Alivia Lisowski won the 4x800m relay (12:02.50). 

Anna Kennedy was second in both the 100m (13.25) and 200m (28.33) dashes, Fairchild was second in the 1600m (5:41.77), Nora Furry was second in the 100m hurdles (18.56) and third in the 300m hurdles (56.88) and Barrett was second in the 800m (2:56.22) with Lisowski taking third (3:03.56).

The Wellsboro boys won eight of the 11 events ran, with Max Macias taking four wins .. in the 800m (2:05.40), the 1600m (4:55.07), the 3200m (11:16.21) and on the 4x800m relay team (9:54.44), along with Henry Whitney, Jude Cuneo and Ethan Geneski. 

Jonathan Carl won the 400m (52.94) and was on the winning 4x400m relay squad (46.70) along with Alex Citrino, Jacoby Strang and Jack Bryant, while Micah Vickery won the 110m hurdles (16.42) and David Seeling won the 300m hurdles (43.21). Seeling was second in the 110m hurdles (17.02) and Vickery was second in the 300m hurdles (44.35). 

Whitney placed second in the 1600m (5:00.09) and in the 3200m (11:30.77), Cuneo was second in the 800m (2:06.44) and Citrino was second in the 100m dash (12.29). 

North Penn-Mansfield won three events .. Luke Kreger in the 100m dash (12.26), Sudan Benner in the 200m dash (24.45) and the 4x400m relay team (3:45.15) .. made up of Benner, Peter Bishop, Braden VanLoon and Jeremiah Lawrence. 

Brayden Johnson was second in the 200m dash (24.85) and third in the 100m (12.37), Miller was second in the 400m (54.40) and third in the 200m (24.97), Bishop was third in the 400m (56.48), Bryce Kent was third in the 800m (2:30.08) and Brady Stetter was third in both the 110m (17.41) and 300m (45.63) hurdles. 

Wellsboro and North Penn-Mansfield will join the rest of the league in Athens Friday for the NTL Track & Field Championships.
