The Lady Hornets scored seven first inning runs on their way to the win, adding single runs in the second and third innings, three in the fifth and their final two in the sixth.

Ady Frantz relieved starting pitcher Paige Logsdon .. who went an inning and a third and allowed three runs (1 earned) on two hits and four walks with three strikeouts .. and threw the final four and two-third innings, giving up one unearned run on a pair of walks while holding Canton hitless and striking out five.

Logsdon (2b, RBI, 3 runs) led the way for Wellsboro at the plate, collecting four base hits, while Frantz (2b, 2 runs) and Teagan Novinger (2b, 3 RBI, 1 run) each had two hits, Hannah Taylor (2b, 2 RBI, 1 run), Rylee Coolidge (1 run), Delaney Morral (2 RBI, 2 runs), Madalynn Flannery and Kaelyn Peterson (RBI, 2 runs) each had a hit and Kaylee Frazier and Arianna Lawton each scored a run.

Wellsboro (5-9) is scheduled to return to action Friday at home against Wyalusing.
