NTL BASEBALL: HORNETS ROLL OVER WYALUSING IN THREE INNING WIN (2025-05-09)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets made quick work of visiting Wyalusing on Friday, shutting out the Rams 16-0 in three innings for their second straight win.
Wellsboro had nine hits in the game and scored eight runs in both the first and second innings.
Gabe Sprouse, Alec Magli, Dustin Owlett, Marek Mascho, Cameron Owlett, Coen Tennis and Max Mascho all scored twice while Ryder Bowen and Gabe Cuneo added solo runs.
Tennis and Cameron Owlett were 2-for-2 at the plate, Marek Mascho was 2-for-3, Max Mascho and Dustin Owlett were 1-for-1 and Magli was 1-for-2. Magli and Cameron Owlett each drove in three runs, Marek Mascho, Max Mascho and Dustin Owlett had two RBI each and Tennis drove in one run.
Sprouse threw two innings to earn the win, giving up just one hit and striking out two. Marek Mascho pitched one inning, striking out one and walking one.
Wellsboro evens their overall record up at 8-8 (7-5 NTL Large School Division). They’re scheduled to visit Shikellamy on Saturday.
