NTL SOFTBALL: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY EDGED BY HUGHESVILLE IN DISTRICT IV SEMIS (2025-05-24)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — The second-seeded North Penn-Liberty softball team saw their season come to an end here Saturday as No. 3 seed Hughesville edged the Mounties 1-0 in the District IV 3A playoffs at Elm Park.
After five scoreless innings of play, Hughesville legged out an infield single, stole second and third on the Mounties and scored on an RBI single in the top of the sixth.
Liberty out-hit Hughesville .. 6 to 4 .. as Maddie Smith and Haley Litzelman had a pair of base hits each and Addie Smith and Kameron Lightner each had a single.
Elyna Booth started and threw a complete game 4-hitter, allowing the lone earned run with five walks and five strikeouts.
The Mounties finish the season with an overall record of 14-5.
