NT WEST SPORTS REPORT / LAUREL HEALTH 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2025-05-25)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The NT West Sports Report / Laurel Health ‘Athletes of the Week’ for the week ending May 24th are Wellsboro’s Piper Hoprich and Lauren Kosek, Cowanesque Valley’s Dave Hess and Williamson’s Aiden O’Neil.
Hoprich finished the final day of the PIAA Track and Field Championships with two, top-three finishes, taking second in the girls’ 100 and third in the girls’ 200 in the Class AA competition.
Kosek earned her first State track and field medal by taking bronze in the Class AA girls’ 3200, and she also qualified for nationals with her new personal best time of 10:45.51.
O’Neil tied for eighth in the boys’ pole vault at the PIAA Track and Field Championships.
Hess helped CV beat No. 4 Benton 3-0 in the District 4 Class A semifinals, collecting a base hit, an RBI and stealing home for the Indians’ second run. He also pitched the final two and a third innings without giving up a hit or issuing a walk and striking out three to earn the save.
