COLLEGE ATHLETICS: MANSFIELD'S ZACK WILCOX CAPS FRESHMAN YEAR WITH NUMEROUS AWARDS, RECORDS FOR PSU SCHUYLKILL (2025-05-28)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportSCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Former North Penn-Mansfield standout and current Penn State Schuylkill athlete Zack Wilcox recently capped off a successful freshman year by being named the Male Athlete of the Year.
Wilcox plays soccer for PSU Schuylkill and is also a member of the track & field team. The Nittany Lions compete as a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), primarily competing in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC).
After setting a freshman record and tying the overall single season record for goals scored with nine, Wilcox was named the Mens Soccer MVP for the 2-13 Lions and selected to the PSAUC’s second team.
In track & field, Wilcox was the USCAA national champ and first team All-American in the 800m run, setting a new school record (1:57.69). He also finished second in the triple jump and was second team All-American while setting a new school record (12.51m / 41.04’) and as a member of the 4x400m relay team, set a school record (3:34.94) and placed third to earn honorable mention All-American.
Wilcox was the USCAA Runner of the Week April 8th and 15th and was named the Penn State Schuylkill Athlete of the Week March 3rd and April 21st.
