NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON EDGES NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD (2021-09-13) Northern Tier West Sports Report TIOGA JUNCTION — North Penn-Mansfield got on the board first Monday in their NTL match-up with Williamson, but the Warriors rallied to tie the game up before the half and scored with just over ten minutes left in the game to win 2-1.
15 minutes into the contest, NPM earned a penalty kick and Madalyn Morgan scored to give the Tigers the early lead.
Williamson's Ella Churchill evened the score at one with a goal at the 35:13 mark of the first half.
The second half played scoreless until Williamson’s Ruby Sherman connected on a goal off of a Jade Colwell assist at the 69:49 mark which proved to be the game-winner for the Warriors.
Williamson had 12 shots on goal, to NPM’s two, and the Warriors had two corner kicks to the Tigers four.
North Penn-Mansfield keeper Tierney Patterson had 10 saves, while Williamson’s Ashley Woodring had one.
Williamson moves to 2-1 with the win, and will host Athens Wednesday, while NPM falls to 0-4 and will next host Athens on Thursday.
