LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL: SOUTHERN TIOGA 10U SPLITS PAIR OF GAMES TO OPEN STATE PLAYOFFS (2025-07-14)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportDREXEL HILL, PA — The Southern Tioga 10U softball team split their first pair of games at the Sate tournament, falling 5-2 to Section 8 champ Lower Perkiomen and beating Section 6 champ Weatherly 2-1 to stay alive in the consolation bracket.
In the opening round loss to Lower Perkiomen on Sunday, Southern Tioga didn’t manage to collect a hit but drew five walks to score their two runs.
Against Weatherly on Monday, ST pitcher Wesley S. Threw four innings without allowing a hit or a run and the game was tied 0-0 going into the top of the sixth inning. Weatherly scored one run in the sixth, giving Southern Tioga one last chance in the home half of the sixth.
After a leadoff strikeout, Wesley S. singled, Lainey R. walked and Carly P. singled to load the bases. Julia B. delivered the winning hit, connecting on a single that scored two runs to end the game.
Southern Tioga advances in the losers bracket with the win and will face Section 2 champ Bullskin on Tuesday.
