NTL GIRLS SOCCER: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD LOOKING FOR IMPROVEMENT IN '25 (2025-08-13)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
MANSFIELD — The North Penn-Mansfield girls soccer team will look to improve on their 1-16-1 record from a season ago with a solid group of returning players and a number of promising newcomers.

“We have a pretty solid number of returning upperclassmen this year,” says Head Coach Maryann Wilcox, “I’m hoping that will translate out on the pitch this year. And we have gained at least eight new faces on our roster so far, with some incoming freshman that I believe will be making a positive impact.”

Returning seniors for the Lady Tigers include Brooke Wilcox, Jayden Burton, Abaigeal Garverick, Lakyn Messner and Pearl Worthington and Wilcox also has a large group of returning juniors, including Madison Baker, Adalie Frey, Molly Hanawalt, Iris Irwin, Brooklyn Ragan, Avalon Rew, Ava Weiskopff and Adalyne Yungwirth.

Wilcox is optimistic that the returning experience will translate to improvement.

“We have a wide range of skill level,” Wilcox explains, “I foresee an improvement in the team’s play building off from last season and to continue that growth in the weeks to come. The team struggled with offense last year .. I’m confident that will improve that part of our game.”

North Penn-Mansfield has a home scrimmage with Sullivan County scheduled for August 20th before opening their season on the road at Wyalusing on August 26th.
