NTL VOLLEYBALL: LADY HORNETS BEAT SAYRE IN STRAIGHT SETS (2025-08-28)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportSAYRE — Defending District 4 champ Wellsboro moved to 2-0 on the young volleyball season, sweeping Sayre 3-0 here Thursday night.
The Lady Hornets won the sets 25-17, 25-11 and 26-24.
Sophomore Peyton Keane had 10 kills to lead Wellsboro while junior Blake Eckart had 10 points with two aces, junior Madison Cruttenden scored nine points with four aces and junior Ellie Largey had 14 assists, nine points and one ace. Keane added four digs, Eckart made four digs and had three kills and Cruttenden added six digs.
Sophomore Kendall Sweet added four kills and senior Brooke Wheeler made two blocks.
Wellsboro swept the JV game, winning 25-12 and 25-23.
The Lady Hornets (2-0, 2-0 NTL Large School Division) are back in action on Tuesday, September 2nd at home against South Williamsport.
