Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets had a six-game winning streak against Athens snapped here Tuesday, falling 2-0 to the visiting Wildcats.
Wellsboro had won nine of their last 10 matches against Athens before Tuesday’s loss.
Athens had an 8-4 advantage in shots-on-goal, with Hornet keeper Camden Tom making six saves, while Wellsboro had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Wellsboro (3-1) visits Liberty to take on the Mounties on Thursday.
