NTL VOLLEYBALL: LADY HORNETS REBOUND FROM FIRST SET LOSS TO BEAT ATHENS 3-1 (2025-09-11)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The visiting 1-5 Athens Lady Wildcats took the first set before Wellsboro came back to earn a 3-1 win in an NTL large school match-up here Thursday.
Athens took the first set 25-20 and the Lady Hornets took the next three .. 25-17, 25-22 and 25-17.
Taylor Main had 17 service points with five aces and added seven assists, while Maddy Cruttenden had 15 points with three aces and 10 digs.
Peyton Keane and Kendall Sweet had eight kills each, Ellie Largey had seven assists and seven digs, Ady Frantz had five kills and a block and Blake Eckart had 12 digs for the Lady Hornets.
Wellsboro improves to 5-1 on the season with the win. They’re scheduled to host Williamsport on Saturday.
