NTL BOYS SOCCER: FITCH EARNS 100TH WIN AS WELLSBORO GAFFER (2025-09-13)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — The Wellsboro boys soccer team handed Head Coach Todd Fitch his 100th career win with a 5-0 shutout of the host Towanda Black Knights on Saturday.
The Hornets had 10 shots-on-goal to Towanda’s five as Jacoby Strang and Jonathan Carl each scored a pair of goals and Coen Tennis rounded out the rout with one goal. Carl and Peter Doan each had an assist.
“The boys put together a solid performance,” said Fitch following the win, “Our shots on goal to goals scored average was up by 35% compared to Thursday’s match against Troy and our defenders and keepers earned another clean sheet. It was a complete team effort today.”
Camden Tom played the first half in net for Wellsboro and recorded a pair of saves while Kayden Rogers played the second half and had one stop.
Wellsboro (7-2) is at Northumberland Christian on Tuesday.
