NTL VOLLEYBALL: WELLSBORO TOPS TROY FOR DIVISIONAL WIN (2021-09-18)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTROY — The Lady Hornets stormed out of the gates in their NTL Large-School divisional match-up with Troy on Saturday, taking the first two sets 25-19 and 25-11, before dropping a set to Troy, 25-22. Wellsboro would finish off the Trojans, taking their third set 25-11 for the 3-1 win.
Emma Owlett lead Wellsboro with 13 kills in the match, while Paige Logsdon and Olivia Chilson each added four.
Logsdon had eight blocks for the Hornets, and Maddi Bordas had 11 assists, while Olivia Servatius added five.
Emily Starkweather and Bri Smith each had four digs, while Servatius had three aces, Bordas had two and Starkweather added one.
Wellsboro improves to 3-2 overall, 2-2 in the NTL and 1-0 in the large-school division with the win. They’ll return to divisional play when they host Towanda Tuesday.
