NTL GIRLS TENNIS: WELLSBORO DROPS NON-LEAGUE MATCH TO MONTGOMERY (2021-09-20)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Lady Hornets struggled to win games in their non-league match-up with Montgomery Monday, leading to a Red Raider sweep of Wellsboro, 5-0.
Wellsboro’s number one doubles team of Gillian Hernandez and Kailey Zuchowski picked up three of the Hornets four games won in the match, as they fell 2-6, 1-6.
At the number three singles match, Wellsboro’s Hannah Nuss lost 1-6, 0-6, for the Hornets other won game on the day.
Michaela Sedor was defeated in the number one singles match, 0-6, 0-6, while Ana Perry fell 0-6, 0-6 in the number two spot. Leslie Bowers and Emma Baldwin were defeated 0-6, 0-6 in the number two doubles match.
Wellsboro will return to action Tuesday when they host Cowanesque Valley at 6:00 p.m. The Hornets will recognize their senior players prior to the match
