COLLEGE TENNIS: WELLSBORO GRADS REDELL AND LEACH LEAD LYCO TO WIN (2021-03-20)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Wellsboro grads Nate Redell and Luke Leach helped lead Lycoming to a near sweep in their match against Misericordia Saturday, winning 8-1.
Redell, playing in the #1 singles match, topped Zack Hemond 6-4 and 6-3. The sophomore captain then teamed with Cody Greenway in the #1 doubles match and the pair won 8-7 (7-3).
First year player Leach, playing in Lyco’s #3 singles slot, won over Ethan Snyder, 6-2, 6-0. He then joined Casey Haas in the #2 doubles match and the duo won 8-0.
The Warriors dropped only one match - #2 singles - in their season opener. They will return to action on March 27 when they travel to Lebanon Valley.
