NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON EARNS OVERTIME WIN AGAINST TOWANDA (2025-10-04)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — Williamson keeper Addy Lanzo came out of goal to hit a game-winning penalty kick in overtime here Saturday to give the Lady Warriors a 4-3 win over Towanda.
Williamson took a 2-1 lead into the break as Zeraya Wilson scored off a Lanzo assist 10 minutes into the game and Maddie Bailey scored on a Star Ordway helper with four minutes left in the first half.
Bailey found the net less than four minutes into the second half off Lainey Hackett’s assist, but the Lady Black Knights scored twice to tie the game up and send it to overtime.
With just 1:14 left in the extra period, Towanda was called for a hand ball and Lanzo was pulled from the net to take the shot and connected to give the Warriors the win.
“The girls played very well today,” said Williamson Head Coach Felicia Hackett following the win, “and I’m very proud of the class that they played with in such a tough game.”
Williamson out shot Towanda 29-13 while the Lady Knights had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
First half goalie Leanne Kessing allowed one goal while Lanzo gave up two and had seven saves.
Williamson, now 8-8 on the season, return to action Wednesday at Athens.
