NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON FALLS 5-3 TO ATHENS (2025-10-08)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS — Williamson held a 2-1 lead over Athens midway through the first half here Wednesday, but the Lady Wildcats scored four goals before the break and beat the Lady Warriors 5-3 in NTL girls soccer action.
Athens scored two minutes into the game, but Williamson answered about 90 seconds later with a goal by Zeraya Wilson to tie the game at 1-1.
With 18:26 remaining in the half, Star Ordway scored off an indirect kick to give Williamson a 2-1 lead, but the remainder of the half was all Wildcats.
The Wildcats scored four unanswered goals to go up 5-2, which is where it stood at the halftime intermission.
Wilson scored her second goal with 3:19 remaining in the contest to provide the final.
Athens had a 17-15 advantage in shots-on-goal and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Williamson keeper Addy Lanzo had three saves in the first half while Alivia Morgan had nine stops for the Warriors in the second half.
The Lady Warriors, now 8-9 overall on the season, have a rematch with Athens at home on Wednesday.
