NTL VOLLEYBALL: WELLSBORO DROPS LIKELY TITLE MATCH TO TROY (2025-10-16)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTROY — Wellsboro took on NTL Large School co-leader Troy on Thursday and fell 3-2 to the Lady Trojans.
The Hornets won the first set 25-20 before Troy took the next two .. 25-23 and 25-16. Wellsboro forced a fifth set with a 25-18 fourth set win. The Trojans secured the victory with a 15-12 win in the fifth.
Taylor Main collected 19 digs, 16 assists and 13 service points in the loss, while Ellie Largey added 21 digs, 11 points with two aces and 16 assists.
Peyton Keane and Blake Eckart had 10 kills each, Maddy Cruttenden had 32 assists and Ady Frantz had nine kills and two blocks.
The Lady Hornets (15-3) have two regular season games remaining, starting Monday at South Williamsport before hosting Towanda on Tuesday.
