HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD FALLS TO MIDD-WEST IN DISTRICT 4 PLAYOFFS (2025-10-21)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMIDDLEBURG, Pa. — North Penn-Mansfield’s turnaround season came to an end here Tuesday, as the 11th-seeded Lady Tigers fell 3-0 to the No. 6 seed Midd-West in the opening round of the District 4 Class 2A playoffs.
Midd-West took a 1-0 lead into halftime and added scores a minute and a half into the second half and with 11 minutes left in the game.
The Lady Tigers were out shot 13-4 and Midd-West had a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Keeper Avalon Rew finished with 10 saves in net for Mansfield, including one on a Midd-West penalty kick attempt.
North Penn-Mansfield finishes the season with a record of 9-9-1 and their first playoff appearance since 2012.
“The girls really exceeded my expectations for the season,” said Head Coach Maryann Wilcox following the loss, “My goals were to be more competitive within our league this year and maybe win a couple of games. I’m so proud of how they met the challenge and ended the regular season with a winning record of 9-8-1.”
