NTL VOLLEYBALL: WELLSBORO DROPS FINAL REGULAR SEASON MATCH TO TOWANDA (2025-10-21)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Wellsboro Lady Hornets volleyball team wrapped up their regular season at home on Tuesday, losing to Towanda, 3-2.
Wellsboro won the first set 26-24 before Towanda took the next two .. 26-24 and 25-19. The Lady Hornets forced a fifth set by winning 25-13 in the fourth and the Lady Knights sealed the win with a 16-14 fifth set-win.
Maddy Cruttenden finished with 43 digs for Wellsboro, while Blake Eckart had 17 digs and added 11 kills and Taylor Main had 15 digs, 14 assists and 11 service points with two aces.
Ellie Largey had 19 assists and 13 points, Peyton Keane had eight kills and eight points with three aces and Ady Frantz led the Hornets with 14 kills.
Wellsboro finishes the regular season 16-4. They’ll be the second seed in the upcoming District 4 Class 2A playoffs where they’ll look to defend their 2024 title.
