NTL VOLLEYBALL: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY MOVES TO DISTRICT 4 SEMIS WITH WIN OVER WILLIAMSON (2025-10-25)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS, Pa. — No. 5 seed North Penn-Liberty took down No. 4 seed Williamson 3-1 in the quarterfinal round of the District 4 AA volleyball playoffs here Saturday, advancing to the tournament semifinals.
The Lady Mounties, who handed Williamson just their second loss of the season two weeks ago, won the first set Saturday 25-19, but the NTL small school champion Warriors rebounded to take set two, 25-23.
Liberty answered with two straight .. 25-16 and 25-18 .. to seal the 3-1 win and keep their season alive.
Kameron Lightner and Haley Litzelman controlled the net for NPL, as Lightner collected 17 kills in the match and Litzelman had 13 kills and added three blocks.
Madison Smith and Elaina Shaw had 20 and 14 assists, while Lightner had 17 digs, Litzelman had 16, Smith had 15, Maddie McNamara had 13 and Shaw had 12.
For Williamson, Abby Gehman had 16 kills and 12 digs and Olivia Nolan had 11 service points, eight kills and 13 digs. Raegan VanGorden had 28 assists, six digs, six points and three kills, Aubrey Wells had six kills, six points and three digs, Bailey Snyder had four points and 21 digs and Laine LaPointe had two digs and two points.
The Lady Warriors end their 2025 season as the NTL small school champs and a 15-4 overall record.
North Penn-Liberty, now 12-6 on the year, advances to the AA semifinals where they’ll face the top-seeded Troy Lady Trojans at Athens on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Mounties fell to the NTL large school champions twice this season .. 3-0 and 3-1.
