NTL VOLLEYBALL: LADY HORNETS TOP WYALUSING IN D4 QUARTERS (2025-10-25) Northern Tier West Sports Report ATHENS, Pa. — Wellsboro continued their District 4 AA title defense and avenged an early season loss to Wyalusing here Saturday, beating the Lady Rams 3-2 in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
The 2nd-seeded Lady Hornets won the first set 25-23 before No. 7 seed Wyalusing won the second set 25-20. Wellsboro won the third 25-17, the Rams won the fourth 25-21 and the Hornets escaped the quarterfinals with a 15-9 win in the fifth set.
Kendall Sweet collected 11 kills and four service points for Wellsboro while Blake Eckart had eight kills and four points, Ady Frantz had seven kills and four blocks and Peyton Keane had seven points on seven aces and 13 digs. Ellie Largey had 15 assists, Taylor Main had 10 assists and six digs and Maddy Cruttenden had six digs.
Now 17-4 on the season, Wellsboro advances to face No. 3 seed Loyalsock in the semis at Athens on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
