NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: 2025-'26 WILLIAMSON LADY WARRIORS PREVIEW (November 24, 2025)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
TIOGA JUNCTION — The Williamson girls’ basketball team has been hard at work, looking toward a return to the postseason and an improvement from their 3-12 mark in the league last year.

12th-year Head Coach Marisa Allen lost three starters to graduation off her 7-15 Lady Warriors’ 2024-’25 roster, but does return a pair of key members from the District 4-qualifying squad.

Senior Kenna Thomas has been a mainstay for Williamson the last couple of seasons and brings back averages of 9.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game from last year. Junior Bailey Snyder joins Thomas as a returning starter after averaging 4.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game in ’24-’25.

Williamson is enjoying one of their biggest rosters in recent years, with 17 players, as Allen points to a trio of returners who could round out the Warriors’ starting five.

“We have a solid core of returning juniors who are looking to contribute right away,” says Allen, “with Olivia Nolan 2.1 PPG, 2.1 RPG), Aubrey Wells (2.6 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 1 SPG) and Leeann Kessing (3 RPG).

Returning seniors Laila Hackett and Alex Hastings, both of who Allen says got quality playing time at the JV level last year, could help the Lady Warriors as the season progresses.

Allen points to a number of newcomers who could be key to the Warriors’ season.

“Junior Mikayla Anderson and sophomore Jocelyn Colegrove will help to deepen our bench for the front court.,” says Allen, “and sophomore Alexis Sprague is returning to the court after taking a year off and her speed will be a benefit to our backcourt. We also have a large group of freshman who will be helping to build our JV program.”

Allen realizes that her team’s inexperience could be a hurdle the Warriors’ need to overcome, but is optimistic with what she’s seen so far.

“We may not be as experienced as some of the other programs this year,” says Allen, “but we’re focusing on fundamentals, on what is in our control and on getting better every day. If we keep working toward those goals, we believe we can be successful, that we could make a run for a district berth again and that we can be more competitive within the NTL.”

Williamson has a scrimmage scheduled for Tuesday in Coudersport before opening the season at the Galeton Tournament on December 5th and 6th. They’ll host Athens on Wednesday, December 10th for their home opener.
