NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: 2025-'26 NORTH PENN-LIBERTY LADY MOUNTIES (November 26, 2025)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportLIBERTY — North Penn-Liberty Head Coach Tracy Gregory welcomed a nice mix of new and returning players to the gym as the Lady Mounties prepare for the 2025-’26 girls’ basketball season.
The Mounties finished 9-14 in 2024-’25 after a first-round District 4 Class A playoff loss. Gregory, entering his 7th season at the helm of the Mounties, will rely heavily on three returning starters off last year’s squad, led by the ’24-’25 All-Tioga County Player of the Year, Haley Litzelman.
Litzelman averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds a game last season and enters her senior year with nearly 700 boards and just 116 points shy of 1,000.
Juniors Kendall Graham (8.1 PPG, 3.3 RPG) and Jaci Fairchild (2.3 RPG, 1.6 SPG) also return. Graham was named to the All-Tioga County second team last season while Fairchild was on the Newcomer Team.
Gregory points to a strong core of freshmen as possible immediate contributors for the Lady Mounties this season, including Scarlett Graham, Serena Boiywo, Victoria McTish and Colette Frey.
“We only have three returning starters,” says Gregory, “but we bring in a lot of freshmen who are very athletic and hungry to get some playing time. This is the youngest team I’ve coached, but it’s also the most athletic team I’ve ever had.”
Gregory and the Mounties have some inflated goals from a season ago, where they finished fourth in the small school division with a 4-6 mark.
“We want to have a .500 or better record, make the district playoffs and make the NTL showdown,” says Gregory. “To do that, we’ll strive to get better every day, give 110% energy in every game and look for the younger players to step up and contribute.”
Liberty has a scrimmage scheduled at Northern Potter on Tuesday and will open their regular season on December 5th and 6th when they host their Ryan Ostrom Memorial Tournament.
“The girls have been working very hard during practices,” says Gregory, “They’re excited to get the season started.”
