NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: 2025-'26 NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD LADY TIGERS (November 28, 2025)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — The North Penn-Mansfield girls’ basketball team has been back in the gym preparing for the 2025-’26 season and looking for improvement from last year’s 8-14 squad.
The Lady Tigers struggled through their first season in the Large School Division in 2024-’25, going just 2-8, but second-year Head Coach Derrick Mclean is hoping the experience gained by his returning players will help.
“Being a year older and returning four starters gives us an opportunity to be more competitive in the large school than we were last year,” says Mclean.
Mclean points to a pair of key returners in senior Kameron Lightner (12 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 3.2 spg), an All-Tioga County first teamer last season, and Maddy McNamara (10.5 ppg, 3 spg), the All-Tioga County Newcomer of the Year in ’24-’25.
Also back for the Tigers are returning junior starters Avalon Rew and Elaina Shaw, while Mclean notes that freshman Julia Kaczynski could contribute right away.
NPM has a pair of home scrimmages scheduled, one on Wednesday against Jersey Shore and another on Saturday against Danville. They’ll open the regular season on December 2nd at Muncy and host their home opener against North Penn-Liberty on December 10th.
