HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING: BRYCE PEQUIGNOT WINS DKI TITLE FOR NORTH PENN-LIBERTY, NICKERSON 3RD (December 6, 2025)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportBLOOMSBURG — North Penn-Liberty’s Bryce Pequignot opened his junior season with a dominant performance at the DKI Invite, winning the 121-pound title with three straight tech falls to lead the Mounties to a 15th-place finish.
Pequignot followed up his impressive Day 1 .. two TF’s .. by drawing a forfeit in the semifinals and then working for a 20-4 technical fall win in the finals over Berwick’s Carmen Malt, a senior with 94 career wins who went 32-6 last season.
Bodhi Nickerson, who went 1-1 on Friday, wrestled all the way back through the 114-pound weight class and won four straight matches to place 3rd. The sophomore won his first two consolation-round matches by tech falls on Saturday, pinned his way into the cons final and claimed the bronze with an 11-4 decision.
Charles Aumick just missed reaching the podium for the Mounties as the senior won his consolation-round match Saturday morning with a fall, was dropped into the 7th/8th-place match by getting pinned and then recorded a 46 second pin in his final match to place 7th at 127 pounds.
Hoyt Pequignot won his first consolation-round match Saturday with a fall in 4:10, but was eliminated from the tourney after getting tech called in his next match at 133 pounds.
The Mounties’ remaining Day 2 wrestlers .. Aivan Whitteker (127), Jonah Neil (139) and Skylar Everetts (215) each lost their consolation matches Saturday morning to be eliminated.
The Mounties open their dual meet schedule on Tuesday when they visit Northeast Bradford.
