NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: HORNETS ROLL TO LOPSIDED WIN OVER SAYRE (December 16, 2025)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportSAYRE — Wellsboro outscored Sayre 35-4 across the middle quarters and cruised to a 50-19 win in NTL boys’ basketball action here Tuesday night.
The Hornets held an 8-7 advantage after one quarter of play before holding the Redskins off the scoreboard in the second quarter and taking a 25-7 lead into the locker rooms.
An 18-4 Wellsboro third quarter led to an 8-7 Sayre fourth to provide the final.
Luke Rothermel led a balanced Hornet scoring attack with 13 points and added seven rebounds, while Colin Fletcher had seven points, Kody Enck had six, RJ Doughtie had five and Ransom Schultz, Griffin Morral and Jonathan Carl each had four points. Morral and Schultz each had five rebounds while Carl grabbed seven.
James Doughtie had three points, Marek Mascho and Gideon Lawton had two points each while Ethan Keane added six assists and four boards.
Wellsboro (2-2) is scheduled to return to play on Thursday when they host Williamson.
