HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: WELLSBORO DROPS NON-LEAGUE GAME TO MONTOURSVILLE (December 20, 2025)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets hosted a streaking Montoursville team Saturday for a non-league boys’ basketball match-up and fell to the Warriors 66-38.
Montoursville (5-1) came in having won four straight and averaging 75 points per game. The Warriors took an 18-12 lead after one quarter and a 32-23 lead at the break. A 16-9 third quarter upped their lead to 48-32 and an 18-6 fourth provided the 66-38 final.
Luke Rothermel led Wellsboro with 17 points and added eight rebounds and three assists while Colin Fletcher scored six points, Jonathan Carl had four, Ransom Schultz had three points and Marek Mascho, Kody Enck, Griffin Morral and Gideon Lawton had two points each.
Wellsboro (3-3) will host North Penn-Mansfield Tuesday.
