NTL BOYS SOCCER: WARRIORS FALL TO WILDCATS (2021-09-23)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION, Pa. — Williamson suffered their third straight loss Thursday, surrendering five second-half goals in a 6-0 blanking by Athens in NTL boys’ soccer action.
Athens scored their first goal midway through the first half, taking the 1-0 lead into the break, before breaking the game open early in the second half.
The Wildcats scored goals two minutes into the half and then four minutes later, then scored twice in two and a half minutes with 26 minutes left in the game. They’d add their sixth with 17 minutes left.
Athens had a 22-3 advantage in shots-on-goal, while both teams had three corner kicks.
Williamson falls to 2-6 with the loss. They are scheduled to host Montgomery on Saturday at 11 a.m.
